PROCEDURE

1. Install high-tension cords.





- Connect the high-tension cords to the Spark Plugs. Face the cord of the high - tension cord as shown in the illustration.





- Fit the high-tension cord by pushing the center and its outer ring.





- Connect the high-tension cords to the Distributor and Ignition Coil. Align the spline of the Distributor or Ignition Coil with the spline groove of the holder.





- Push in the holder together with the grommet until the claw of the holder locks securely.





NOTE: Check that holder is correctly installed to the grommet and Distributor or Ignition Coil as shown in the illustration.





- Check that the lock claw of the holder is engaged by lightly pulling the holder.





- Secure the high - tension cords with the 8 cord clamps as shown in the illustration.





2. Install cylinder head rear cover with the 4 bolts using a 5 mm hexagon wrench.





3. Install No. 3 timing belt cover.
- Using a 5 mm hexagon wrench, install the timing belt cover with the 6 bolts.
- Install the oil filler cap.





4. Install Throttle Body.
- Install a new gasket to the intake air connector.
- Slide the Throttle Body onto the stud bolts on the intake air connector.





- Connect the following hoses:
Water bypass hose from water outlet (1)
Water bypass hose from No. 2 water bypass pipe (2)





- Install the Throttle Body with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft lb)

- Install the water bypass hose (from the No. 2 water bypass pipe) to the clamp on the engine hanger.





- Connect the following hoses:
4 vacuum hoses (1)
Air hose from intake manifold (California only) (2)





- Connect the following connectors:
Throttle Position Sensor connector (1)
Sub-Throttle Position Sensor connector (w/TRAC) (2)
Sub-throttle actuator connector (w/ TRAC) (3)
Idle Air Control Valve connector (4)





5. Install Throttle Body bracket with the 4 nuts.

Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft lb)

6. Install intake air connector pipe.
- Install the air connector pipe with the 2 hose clamps.





- Connect the following hoses:
Power steering air hose to air connector pipe (1)
Positive Crankcase Ventilation hose to No. 2 cylinder head cover (2)





7. Connect the following control cables to Throttle Body.
Accelerator cable (1)
A/T throttle control cable (2)
Cruise control actuator cable (3)
8. Fill engine with coolant.
9. Connect cable to negative terminal of battery.
