Inspection Procedure

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. Check operation of speedometer.
- Drive the vehicle and check if the operation of the speedometer in the combination meter is normal. The No.1 Vehicle Speed Sensor is operating normally if the speedometer display is normal.
- If OK proceed to step 2.
- If not OK check speedometer circuit.
2. Check voltage between terminal SP1 of Engine Control Module connector and bodv around.





- Shift the shift lever to N position.
- Jack up a rear wheel on one side.
- Connect the Check Harness A.
- Disconnect power steering Electronic Control Unit connector and cruise control Electronic Control Unit connector.
- Turn Ignition Switch ON.
- Measure voltage between terminal SP1 of Engine Control Module connector and body ground when the wheel is turned slowly.





Voltage is generated intermittently

- If OK check and replace Engine Control Module.
- If not OK check speedometer circuit.
