Cold Start Injector: Testing and Inspection

Cold Start Injector Inspection:

Electrical Inspection
- Remove cold start injector, refer to COMPONENT REPLACEMENT AND REPAIR PROCEDURES.
- Connect ohmmeter across injector terminals.

Desired - 2 to 4 ohms @ 68°F (20°C)

- Connect ohmmeter between injector body and each terminal.

Desired - No continuity

Testing Setup:

Functional Inspection
- Connect injector to fuel rail with a length of fuel line and suitable adapters.

Jumper Installation:

- Pressurize fuel system by installing a jumper wire between Check Connector terminals +B and FP.

Functional Test:

- Place injector in a clear container.
- Briefly apply battery voltage to injector and inspect for an even spray pattern.
- Disconnect battery voltage and inspect injector for leakage.

Desired - One drop per minute or less

- Remote jumper wire.
- Reinstall injector.
