Title:
DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER COVER SEALANT

The differential carrier coversealant previously recommended, Three Bond 1389 FIPG, has been discontinued. To insure proper sealant adhesion, the newly recommended sealant is Three Bond 1281 FIPG.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

1. Clean the contact surface of the carrier and cover thoroughly.





2. Apply sealant on the differential cover to carrier surface as shown in Figure 1.

Note: After applying the sealant, install the cover within THREE MINUTES.





3. Install carrier cover.
Torque: 47 Nm (475kgf/cm 34ft/lbf).

4. Install breather plug.
Torque: 21 Nm (210kgf/cm, 15 ft/lbf)

IMPORTANT
Allow sealant to cure for 12 hours prior to filling the with lubricant to assure a leak-free seal.
