Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Testing and Inspection
Canister Inspection:
Preliminary Inspection
- Remove canister from vehicle
- Visually inspect for cracks or damage.
Canister Inspection:
Check Valve Inspection
- Blow low pressure air into port A.
- Air should flow freely out other ports.
Canister Inspection]:
- Blow into port B.
- No air flow should be present.
Canister Inspection:
Filter Cleaning
- Blow compressed air, (Below 43psi, 294 kPa), through port A while blocking port B.
- Air should flow out lower port.
- Replace canister if desired results are not achieved, or if charcoal comes out of canister during cleaning.
