Connector Terminal Reassembly

Terminal dimension differs in the same connector body. Because of this, care must be taken when inserting terminals to ensure that they are the proper size for the connector body. Information provides terminal size by locations.

Female Connector

1. Install the terminal into the connector body

NOTE:
Make sure the terminal is positioned correctly as shown in the illustration and the terminal retainer is in the temporary lock position.

A Insert the terminal into the connector until a "click" is heard.

B Gently pull on the terminal to check if it is correctly locked.
C Return the terminal retainer to the full lock position.

MALE CONNECTOR

A Insert the terminal guide to where the locking tab and access hole are approximately. 12.0 mm (0.47 in.) from the end of the connector.

B Insert the terminal into the connector until a click is heard.

Note:
If the terminal tip is obstructed by the terminal guide, the terminal is bent. Do not force it--remove the terminal to inspect and straighten before proceeding.

C Gently pull the terminal back to check if it is correctly locked.

D Close the retainer, return the terminal retainer to the full lock position.
