Variable Induction System: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTION1. Using a 3-way connector connect a vacuum gauge to the Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) Actuator hose.
2. Start the engine.
3. While the engine is idling, check that the vacuum gauge needle does not move.
4. Rapidly depress the accelerator pedal to the fully open position and check that the vacuum gauge needle momentarily fluctuates up to approximately 33.3 kPa (9.84 in Hg). Verify that the actuator rod is pulled down.
5. Remove the vacuum gauge and connect hoses correctly.
5. If no problems are found, system is working correctly. If problems are found, inspect each part.
