Rear Door: Adjustments

REAR DOOR ADJUSTMENT





1. DISCONNECT BATTERY CABLE FROM NEGATIVE TERMINAL

CAUTION: Work must be started after 90 seconds from the time the ignition switch is turned to the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal cable is disconnected from the battery.

2. ADJUST REAR DOOR IN FORWARD/REARWARD AND VERTICAL DIRECTIONS

HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.





(a) Using the screwdriver, pry out the front side of the clip.
(b) Using a clip remover. remove the front door scuff plate.





(c) Using the screwdriver, pry out the rear side of the clip.
(d) Using a clip remover, remove the rear door scuff plate.





(e) Using the screwdriver, remove the center pillar lower garnish.





(f) Disconnect the connectors.
(g) Remove two bolts and the front seat belt retractor.





(h) Loosen the body side nuts to adjust.

Torque: 25 N.m (260 kgf.cm, 19 ft.Ibf)

(i) Install the retractor with the bolt. (Upper Side)

Torque: 19 N.m (195 kgf.cm. 14 ft.Ibf)

(j) Install the retractor with the bolt. (Lower Side)

Torque: 43 N.m (440 kgf.cm. 32 ft.Ibf)

(k) Install the center pillar lower garnish.
(l) Install the front and rear door scuff plates.





3. ADJUST REAR DOOR IN LEFT/RIGHT VERTICAL DIRECTIONS
Using a wrench. loosen the door side hinge bolts.

Torque: 28 N.m (290 kgf.cm, 21 ft.Ibf)

4. CONNECT BATTERY CABLE TO NEGATIVE TERMINAL





5. ADJUST REAR DOOR LOCK STRIKER

HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.

(a) Check that the door fit and door lock linkages are adjusted correctly.
(b) Using the screwdriver, remove the striker cover.
(c) Adjust the striker position by slightly loosening the striker mounting screws, and hitting the striker with hammer. Tighten the striker mounting screws again.

Torque: 25 N.m (260 kgf.cm, 19 ft.Ibf)

(d) Install the striker cover.
