Disassembly and Reassembly
FRONT DOOR DISASSEMBLY1. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WINDOW UPPER GARNISH
HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use. Using the screwdriver, pry loose two clips and remove garnish.
2. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL
HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.
(a) Using the screwdriver, pry outward where the handle and the upper side of the bezel meet.
(b) Using the screwdriver, pry outward where the handle and the lower side of the bezel meet and remove the rear half of the bezel.
(c) With the door handle in open position, pull the bezel out toward the rear.
3. REMOVE POWER WINDOW SWITCH
HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.
(a) Using the screwdriver, remove the clip.
(b) Pull the switch backward and disconnect the connector.
4. REMOVE DOOR TRIM
HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.
(a) Using the screwdriver, remove the courtesy light and disconnect the connector.
(b) Using the screwdriver, remove the cap.
(c) Remove seven screws.
(d) Insert the screwdriver between the panel and the trim and remove the clips.
NOTICE: Do not scratch the panel with the screwdriver.
(e) Remove the trim by pulling all of the trim up.
5. REMOVE UPPER SPEAKER
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Using a cup remover, remove the clamp.
(c) Remove two screws and the upper speaker.
6. REMOVE DOOR SPEAKER
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove four screws and the speaker.
7. REMOVE DOOR FRAME GARNISH
(a) Remove the clip.
(b) Pry out the lower side of the garnish.
(c) Pull the garnish forward and remove the upper side clips.
(d) Pull the garnish forward and remove the rear side clips.
(e) Remove the garnish.
8. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE
(a) Remove two screws.
(b) Disconnect two links from the handle.
9. REMOVE SERVICE HOLE COVER
(a) Using pliers, remove two screw grommets.
(b) Remove the cover by pulling at the edge by hand.
NOTICE: Do not tear the cover.
10. REMOVE OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Using a clip remover, remove the clamp.
(c) Remove three bolts and the mirror.
11. REMOVE FRONT DOOR INNER WEATHERSTRIP
HINT: Tape a scraper tip before use.
Using the scraper, remove the inner weatherstrip.
12. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS RUN
13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE BELT MOULDING
HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.
(a) Remove eleven screws and four nuts.
(b) Using the screwdriver, remove the moulding.
14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR GLASS
HINT: Insert a shop rag inside the panel to prevent scratching the glass.
Remove two bolts and the glass.
15. REMOVE WINDOW REGULATOR
(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Using a clip remover, disconnect the clamp.
(c) Remove seven nuts and the window regulator.
16. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOWER FRAME
(a) Remove two nuts and the front lower frame.
(b) Remove the bolt, the nut and the rear lower frame.
17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR LOCK
(a) Using a torx wrench, remove the screw.
(b) Remove the door lock cover.
(c) Disconnect the link from the door lock cylinder.
(d) Disconnect the link from the door outside handle.
(e) Using a clip remover, disconnect the clamps.
(f) Using a torx wrench, remove two screws.
(g) Remove the door lock, then disconnect the connector.
18. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE
(a) Remove two bolts and the handle, then disconnect the connector.
(b) Remove two bolts and the door lock cylinder from the handle.
19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR CHECK
HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.
(a) Using the screwdriver, remove the door check cover.
(b) Using a torx wrench, remove the screw.
(c) Remove the door check from the body.
(d) Remove two nuts and the door check.
20. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WEATHERSTRIP
Using a clip remover, remove the weatherstrip.
21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE
HINT: Tape a screwdriver tip before use.
(a) Using the screwdriver, pry out the front side of the clip.
(b) Using a clip remover, remove the scuff plate.
22. REMOVE FRONT DOOR WIRE HARNESS
(a) Peel off the front corner of the floor carpet.
(b) Disconnect four connectors.
(c) Using a clip remover, disconnect the clamps.
(d) Remove the wire harness.
23. REMOVE INSIDE PANEL FRAME
Remove four screws and the frame.
FRONT DOOR ASSEMBLY
Assemble front door parts by following disassembly sequence in reverse.
BEFORE INSTALLING PARTS, COAT THEM WITH MP GREASE
(a) Apply MP grease to the window regulator rollers.
(b) Apply MP grease to the sliding surface of the door lock.
INSTALL FRONT DOOR CHECK
(a) Apply adhesive to the screw.
Part No.08833-00070,THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
(b) Install the door check with the screw.
Torque: 8.8 N.m (90 kgf.cm, 78 in.Ibf)
INSTALL FRONT DOOR LOCK
(a) Apply adhesive to two screws.
Part No.08833-00070,THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
(b) Install the door check with two screws.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf-cm. 48 in.Ibf)
(c) Connect the connector.
(d) Connect the link to the outside handle.
NOTICE: Check that there is 0-1 mm free play beneath the door open rod.
(e) Connect the link to the door lock cylinder.
(f) Install the clamps.
INSTALL FRONT DOOR LOCK COVER
(a) Apply adhesive to the screw.
Part No.08833-00070,THREE BOND 1324 or equivalent
(b) Install the door lock cover with the screw.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm. 48 in.Ibf)
INSTALL WINDOW REGULATOR
Install the window regulator with seven nuts.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm. 48 in.Ibf)
