Removal and Installation
Fig. 3 Cooling fan pump removal:
Refer to Fig. 3 when replacing hydraulic pump.
1. Disarm airbag as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Drain engine coolant.
3. Remove battery, engine undercovers and radiator reservoir tank.
4. Remove engine drive belt.
5. Disconnect A/C compressor from engine.
6. Remove left hand side ignition coil from engine.
7. Remove intake air connector and upper high tension cord cover.
8. Remove righthand and lefthand engine wire covers.
9. Remove VSV for EVAP system.
10. Remove righthand and lefthand No. 3 timing belt covers.
11. Disconnect radiator hose from water outlet, then remove drive belt idler pulley.
12. Remove righthand and lefthand No. 2 timing belt covers.
13. Disconnect pressure and suction hoses from hydraulic pump.
14. Disconnect solenoid valve connector and engine speed sensor wire clamp.
15. Remove two mounting bolts and nuts, then hydraulic pump.
16. Reverse procedure to install. Bleed system as described under BRAKES/DISC AND DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM/MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING.
