1. Disconnect battery ground cable and disable airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. On all models except ES 300, use Torx 30 tool 09042-00010 or equivalent, to loosen four wheel pad screws, Fig. 11.
3. On ES 300 models, use Torx 30 tool 09042-00010 or equivalent, to loosen three wheel pad screws, Fig. 12.
4. On GS 300 models, use Torx 30 tool 09042-00010 or equivalent, to loosen wheel pad screws, Fig.11.
5. Pull airbag from steering wheel and disconnect connector. Store airbag facing upward.
6. Place matchmarks on steering wheel and shaft, then disconnect connector and remove retaining nut.
7. Using steering wheel puller tool No. 09213-31021 or equivalent, remove steering wheel.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque set nut to 26 ft.lbs.
b. Torque wheel pad screws to 65 in.lbs.
c. Rearm airbag as described MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
