EGR Temperature Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL OF EGR GAS TEMP. SENSOR1. REMOVE EGR VACUUM MODULATOR AND VCV WITH BRACKET
(a) Disconnect the following hoses:
^ Three vacuum hoses from vacuum pipe
^ Two vacuum hoses from air pipe
^ Two vacuum hoses from VSV for EGR
^ EGR vacuum modulator hose from EGR valve
(b) Remove the EGR vacuum modulator and VCV with bracket from the EGR valve.
2. DISCONNECT NO.1 PCV HOSE FROM EGR VALVE ADAPTER
3. DISCONNECT NO.3 AND NO.4 WATER BY-PASS HOSES FROM EGR VALVE
4. REMOVE EGR VALVE
- Remove the two nuts, and remove the EGR valve and gasket.
5. REMOVE EGR ADAPTER
(a) Remove the two nuts and two bolts, and remove the EGR valve adapter and gasket.
(b) Disconnect the connector.
6. REMOVE EGR GAS TEMP. SENSOR
- Remove the EGR gas temp. sensor and gasket from EGR valve adapter.
INSTALLATION OF EGR GAS TEMP. SENSOR
1. INSTALL EGR GAS TEMP. SENSOR
- Install the EGR gas temp. sensor and new gasket to EGR valve adapter.
2. INSTALL EGR ADAPTER
(a) Install a new gasket to the air intake chamber.
(b) Connect the connector.
(c) Install the EGR valve adapter to the air intake chamber with the two bolts and two nuts.
Torque: 18 N.m (185 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
3. INSTALL EGR VALVE
(a) Install a new gasket to the EGR valve adapter.
(b) Install the EGR valve to the EGR valve adapter with the two nuts.
Torque: 18 N.m (185 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf.)
4. CONNECT NO.3 AND NO.4 WATER BY-PASS HOSES TO EGR VALVE
5. CONNECT NO.1 PCV HOSE TO EGR VALVE ADAPTER
6. INSTALL EGR VACUUM MODULATOR AND VCV WITH BRACKET
(a) Install the EGR vacuum modulator and VCV with bracket to the EGR valve.
(b) Connect the following hoses:
^ EGR vacuum modulator hose to EGR valve
^ Two vacuum hoses to VSV for EGR
^ Two vacuum hoses to air pipe Three vacuum hoses to ~vacuum pipe
