Heater Control Valve: Service and Repair

WATER VALVE REMOVAL



REMOVE CONTROL CABLE






- Unlock the clamp and remove the control cable.

DISCONNECT WATER HOSE FROM WATER VALVE






(a) Grip the claws of the hose clip and slide the clip to a position where it doesn't clamp the hose to the pipe.
(b) Pull off the hose.



REMOVE WATER VALVE

(a) Remove two nuts.
(b) Grip the claws of the hose clip and slide the clip to a position where it doesn't clamp the hose to the pipe.
(c) Pull off the hose.


WATER VALVE INSTALLATION


Install by following the removal procedure in reverse order.





HINT: Push the water hose for the heater unit onto the pipe until the pipe's markings are hidden.

- Push the water hose from the engine onto the water valve pipe unit the pipe is completely hidden.





- Install the hose clip in a position where about 1 mm (0.04 in.) of the marking on the hose can be seen.

- The hose clip should be installed so the claws are inclined approx. 30 degrees toward right side of the vehicle.





- The hose clip should be installed so the claws are inclined approx. 45 degrees toward front side of the vehicle.
