Right Hand Side


1. Remove fender apron seal.
2. Drain approximately one quart of transaxle fluid from transaxle.
3. Remove driveshaft and intermediate shaft as follows:
a. Remove cotter pin, dust cover, and bearing locknut.
b. Loosen six nuts attaching driveshaft to intermediate shaft flange.
c. Remove brake caliper from steering knuckle and secure out of way.
d. Remove disc rotor.
e. Using tool No. SST 09950-20014 or equivalent, pull axle hub from driveshaft.
f. Remove bearing bracket bolts and bracket from cylinder block.
g. Remove intermediate shaft from universal joint.
4. Using tools No. SST 09520-32010 and No. SST 09520-32030 or equivalents, drive out universal joint.
5. Using tool No. SST 09308-00010 or equivalent, drive oil seal from case.
6. Using tool No. SST 09350-32010 or equivalent, drive new oil seal into case until surface of seal is flush with surface of case.
7. Coat lip of seal with suitable grease.
8. Using tools No. SST 09520-32010 and No. SST 09520-32030 or equivalents, drive in universal joint until joint contacts pinion shaft.
9. Install intermediate shaft and driveshaft as follows:
a. Install intermediate shaft to universal joint.
b. Install bearing bracket onto cylinder block.
c. Install outboard joint side of driveshaft to axle hub.
d. Finger tighten six nuts connecting driveshaft to intermediate shaft flange.
e. Install disc rotor.
f. Install brake caliper to steering knuckle.
g. Installing bearing locknut, dust cover, and cotter pin.
h. Tighten six driveshaft to intermediate shaft flange attaching nuts to specifications.
i. Fill transaxle with approximately one quart of transaxle fluid.
10. Install fender apron seal.
