1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
2. Disconnect anti-lock brake system speed sensor wire from shock absorber.
3. Remove front brake union and disconnect and plug brake hose from disc brake caliper.
4. Remove clip from brake hose bracket then the brake hose.
5. Remove lower shock absorber attaching nuts and bolts, Fig. 5.
6. Remove three nuts holding top of suspension support.
7. remove shock absorber from body. Cover driveshaft boot to prevent damage during removal.
8. Install a bolt and two nuts to lower portion of shock absorber shell and secure in vise, Fig. 6.
9. Using coil spring compressor tool No. 09727-30020 or equivalent, compress coil spring.
10. Using spring seat holding tool No. 09729-22031 or equivalent, remove suspension support, spring seat, spring insulator and bumper.
11. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Align coil spring end with lower seat hollow.
b. Replace suspension support nut with new.
c. Pack bearing in suspension support with multi-purpose grease before installing dust cover.
d. Tighten all attaching nuts and bolts to specifications.
