Removal

Air Cleaner And Hose:

Preparation
- Disconnect negative battery terminal.
- Drain engine coolant into an approved container.
- Disconnect cables from throttle body.
- Remove air cleaner cover, airflow meter and air hose as an assembly.

Throttle Body Vacuum Hoses And Connectors:

- Disconnect the following hoses and connectors:
^ PCV hoses
^ Pressure regulator vacuum hose
^ Water by-pass hoses
^ Fuel pressure VSV hose
^ EVAP vacuum hoses
^ ISC valve
^ Throttle position sensor
^ CA only - EGR temperature sensor

Right Side Engine Support:

Air Intake Chamber Removal
- Remove right side support.
- Disconnect cold start injector electrical connector.
- Remove cold start injector supply line.

Hoses:

- Disconnect brake booster vacuum hose.
- Disconnect power steering air hoses.
- Disconnect cruise control vacuum hoses.
- Remove ground strap and wiring harness clamp.

Engine Hanger And Air Intake Chamber Support:

- Remove wiring harness.
- Remove EGR pipe.
- Remove No. 1 engine hanger and air intake support.

Air Intake Chamber:

- Remove air intake chamber.

No. 2 Fuel Line:

Fuel Rail Removal
- Disconnect water temperature sensor connector.
- Disconnect injector electrical connectors.
- Remove No. 2 fuel pipe from between fuel rails.

Fuel Rails:

- Remove fuel return and supply lines.
- Remove fuel rails.
- Pull injectors out of fuel rail.
- Remove and discard o-rings and grommets.
