Cold Start Injector: Description and Operation

Cold Start Injector:

PURPOSE
The cold start injector delivers extra fuel into the air induction system to compensate for poor fuel atomization during low temperature starting.

LOCATION
Mounted to the end of the intake air chamber, on the right side of the engine compartment.

OPERATION
The injector is controlled by the start injector time switch. Fuel is injected directly into the air intake chamber for up to 8 seconds during engine cranking with coolant temperature below 59°F (15°C).
