Engine Control Module: Testing and Inspection

The fuel injection circuit can be checked by measuring the resistance and voltage at the wiring connectors of the ECU.
1. Disconnect connectors from ECU, then remove locks from connectors.
2. Reconnect connectors to ECU.
3. Tester probes should be inserted into wiring connector from wiring side.
4. Inspect voltage of ECU, noting the following:
a. Perform all voltage measurements with connectors connected.
b. Verify battery voltage is 11 volts or more with ignition switch On.
c. Refer to Fig. 42, for terminals to be tested and specifications.

5. Inspect resistance of ECU, noting the following:
a. Disconnect connectors from ECU.
b. Measure resistance at connector terminals. Do not touch ECU terminals.
c. Refer to Fig. 43, for terminals to be tested and specifications.

6. Install locks onto connectors, then connect connectors to ECU.
