ABS System System Functional Test
If a ABS system malfunction occurs, diagnosis system will identify the problem and the computer code for the trouble items. At the same time, the "ANTILOCK" warning light informs the driver of a malfunction. By turning the ignition switch on and disconnecting the actuator check connector, the trouble can be identified by the number of blinks (diagnostic code) of the warning light. The smallest number (code) will be identified first, in the event of having more than one code.
1. Check battery voltage is above 12 volts.
2. Check to see that the warning light turns on.
a. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
b. Check that the "ANTILOCK" warning light turns on for 3 seconds. If the light fails to come on, check the fuse, bulb and the wiring harness.
