Cruise Control System

Type A Codes
1. Turn ignition switch to On position.
2. Place and hold control switch to SET/COAST position.
3. Turn main switch On.
4. Ensure CRUISE indicator light in combination meter is On.
5. Turn SET/COAST switch Off.

6. Perform conditions listed in Fig. 1.
7. Read diagnostic code on cruise control indicator light.

Type B Codes
If while driving with the cruise control on, the system is canceled by a malfunction in either the actuator, speed sensor or control switch circuit, the cruise control indicator light will flash 5 times.

While stopped, connect terminal 3 to terminal 4 in the Total Diagnostic Communication Link (TDCL), Fig. 2. Read diagnostic code(s) on cruise control indicator light and refer to chart, Fig. 3. If power is lost for any reason, the diagnostic code will be erased from ECU memory.
