BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE PEDAL: REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing Service Precautions.
NOTICE:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and setting. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal (w/ Navigation System for HDD).
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal
4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal
5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH LH Removal
7. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE Removal
8. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
9. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal
10. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disengage the claw and guide, and remove the No. 4 air duct sub-assembly.
NOTICE:
Do not damage the claw or guide.
11. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING
(a) Remove the brake pedal return spring from the push rod pin and instrument panel reinforcement.
12. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
13. SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
(a) Remove the clip and push rod pin, and separate the brake master cylinder push rod clevis from the brake pedal sub-assembly.
14. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the brake pedal load sensing switch connector and disengage the clamp.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the brake pedal support assembly from the instrument panel reinforcement.
(c) Remove the 4 nuts and brake pedal support assembly from the body.
