SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

The multiplex network master switch assembly detects the mirror adjust switch status and sends the signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via LIN communication. The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) then sends the mirror adjust switch signal to each outer mirror control ECU assembly (both driver and front passenger sides) via CAN communication. On receiving the signal, each outer mirror control ECU assembly operates the vertical and horizontal mirror motors to adjust the mirror surface position.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

OK:

CAN communication DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART) CAN Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Use the Techstream to check if the LIN communication system is functioning normally How to Proceed With Troubleshooting.

OK:

LIN communication DTC is not output.

NG -- GO TO LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART) LIN Communication System
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Master Switch / Data List.

(e) Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

OK:

On the Techstream screen, ON or OFF is displayed for each item according to the table above.

NG -- REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. REPLACE MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Replace the multiplex network master switch assembly Removal.

NEXT -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK ELECTRICAL REMOTE CONTROL MIRROR FUNCTION

(a) Check if the mirror surface position can be adjusted by operating the mirror adjust switch.

OK:

Electrical remote control mirror function is normal.

NG -- REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU) Removal

OK -- END (MULTIPLEX NETWORK MASTER SWITCH WAS DEFECTIVE)
