Removal and Installation
Side Airbag Assembly:
REMOVAL
NOTE:
- If the wiring connector of the SRS is disconnected and the ignition switch is at ON or ACC position, DTCs will be recorded.
- Never use the airbag parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.
1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT
a. Remove the 4 bolts.
b. Disconnect the side airbag connector.
NOTE: When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
c. Disconnect the power seat connector.
HINT: Disconnect the connector after sliding the seat to the most front position.
2. REMOVE HEADREST
3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD
a. Remove the power seat switch knobs.
b. Remove the 4 screws and front seat cushion shield, then disconnect the connector.
4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION COVER
Remove the 3 screws and front seat inner cushion cover.
5. REMOVE NO.1 FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD
Remove the 2 screws and No.1 front seat cushion shield.
6. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the wire harness from the seat cushion assembly.
b. Remove the 4 bolts and seat cushion assembly.
7. REMOVE SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Remove the hog rings.
b. Disengage the seat cushion cover hook.
c. Remove the seat cushion cover with pad.
d. Remove the hog rings and seat cushion cover from the pad.
8. REMOVE SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the seatback board as shown in the illustration.
b. Remove the hog rings.
c. Remove the 4 seatback assembly set bolts.
NOTE: Be careful not to pull the side airbag assembly wire harness.
d. Remove the 6 screws and seat cushion inside covers, then disconnect the wire harness from the covers.
e. Disengage the wire harness clamps.
f. Remove the seatback assembly.
9. REMOVE SEATBACK FRAME
a. Remove the hog rings.
b. Remove the 2 screws and disengage the seat cover hook and retainer from the seatback frame.
c. Remove the headrest supports.
d. Remove the cap, bolt, washer, wave washer and armrest.
e. Remove the seatback frame from the seatback cover with pad.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Never use airbag parts from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.
1. INSTALL SEATBACK FRAME
a. Install the seatback cover with pad to the seatback frame with the new hog rings.
HINT: When installing hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as little as possible.
b. Install the armrest, wave washer and washer with the bolt, then install the cap.
c. Install the headrest supports.
d. Engage the seat cover hook and retainer, then install the 2 screws to the seatback frame.
e. Install the new hog rings.
HINT: When installing hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as little as possible.
2. INSTALL SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
a. Mount the seatback assembly on the seat adjuster assembly.
b. Connect the lumber support assembly connector.
c. Install the wire harness to the seat cushion inside covers as shown in the illustration.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the wire harness.
d. Install the seat cushion inside covers with the 6 screws.
e. Install the 4 seatback assembly set bolts.
Torque: 37 N.m (377 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)
f. Engage the wire harness clamps.
g. Install the new hog rings.
HINT: When installing hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as little as possible.
h. Install the seatback board as shown in the illustration.
3. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION COVER
a. Install the seat cushion cover with new hog rings to the seat cushion pad.
b. Install the seat cushion cover with pad to the seat cushion frame.
c. Engage the seat cushion cover hook.
d. Install new hog rings.
HINT: When installing hog rings, take care to prevent wrinkles as little as possible.
4. INSTALL SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
a. Install the seat cushion assembly with the 4 bolts to the seat adjuster.
Torque: 18 N.m (183 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)
b. Install the wire harness to the seat cushion as shown in the illustration.
5. INSTALL NO.1 FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD
Install the No.1 front seat cushion shield with the 2 screws.
6. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER CUSHION COVER
Install the front seat inner cushion cover with the 3 screws.
7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD
a. Connect the connector, then install the front seat cushion shield with the 4 screws.
b. Install the power seat switch knobs.
8. INSTALL HEADREST
9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT
a. Mount the seat to the vehicle.
b. Connect the power seat connector and side airbag connector.
c. Install the outer bolt and inner bolt in the front side after sliding the seat to the rearmost position.
Torque: 37 N.m (375 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)
d. Tighten the bolts on the rear side temporarily, tighten them completely starting from the bolt on the inner side.
Torque: 37 N.m (375 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)
