Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair






REMOVAL
1. REMOVE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL AND RIGHT FRONT FENDER LINER
2. REMOVE PS GEAR TUBE CLAMP BOLT
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
3. DISCONNECT ENGINE COOLANT RESERVOIR
Slide the engine coolant reservoir upward and remove it from the bracket.





4. DISCONNECT 4 CONNECTORS AND BRAKE HOSE FROM BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY





5. DISCONNECT BRAKE LINES
Using SST, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator assembly.
SST 09751-36011
Torque: 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft. lbs.)





6. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 bolts, nut and brake actuator assembly.
Torque: 19 Nm (195 kgf-cm, 14 ft. lbs.)
7. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR
(a) Remove the 2 nuts and brake actuator from actuator bracket.
Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 inch lbs.)
(b) Remove the 2 holders and 3 cushions from the brake actuator.

INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

HINT:
- After installation, fill the brake reservoir with brake fluid and bleed brake system.
- Check for leaks.
