Spoiler: Service and Repair
REMOVALREMOVE REAR SPOILER
a. Remove the 2 hole plugs.
b. Remove the 2 bolts.
c. Apply protective tape to the body.
d. Using a heat light, heat the rear spoiler to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat spoiler excessively.
e. Tie both piano wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.
f. Cut the adhesive tape by pulling the piano wire as shown in the illustration.
NOTE:
- If reusing the spoiler, take care not to damage the rear spoiler.
- Do not damage the body.
g. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the rear spoiler.
INSTALLATION
1. CLEAN BODY MOULDING SURFACE
a. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the body excessively.
b. Remove the side protector from the body.
c. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
2. CLEAN REAR SPOILER
If reusing rear spoiler:
a. Using a heat light, heat the rear spoiler to 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F).
NOTE: Do not heat the rear spoiler excessively.
b. Remove the side protector from the rear spoiler.
c. Wipe off stains with cleaner.
3. INSTALL REAR SPOILER
a. Apply new side protector to the rear spoiler as shown in the illustration.
b. Using a heat light, heat the body and rear spoiler.
Body: 40 - 60 degrees C (104 - 140 degrees F)
Rear spoiler: 20 - 30 degrees C (68 - 86 degrees F)
NOTE: Do not heat the body and rear spoiler excessively.
c. Install the rear spoiler with 2 bolts and 2 hole covers.
