Fuel Door: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the front part of deck board assembly.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the 2 bolts and deck board assembly.
2. REMOVE NO. 2 DECK BOARD
3. REMOVE NO. 3 DECK BOARD
4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY
5. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY
6. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH
Remove the nut, 4 clips and deck side trim box.
7. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER
8. REMOVE REAR SEAT LH
9. REMOVE REAR DOOR INSIDE SCUFF PLATE LH
Insert a screwdriver between the rear door inside scuff plate and body to pry the scuff plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
10. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM LH
11. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
a. Remove the 4 clips.
b. Insert a screwdriver between the rear floor finish plate and body to pry the finish plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH
a. Remove the bolt and floor hook.
b. Remove the clip.
c. Insert a screwdriver between the rear floor finish side plate and body to pry the side plate.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
13. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH
Install the screwdriver between the deck side trim cover and the deck trim side panel to pry the deck side trim cover.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
14. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
a. Remove the 3 clips.
b. Insert a screwdriver between the rear seat side garnish and body to pry the garnish.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
15. REMOVE ACCESSORY SOCKET
a. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw on the accessory socket cover from the hole in the accessory socket, then pull out the accessory socket approx. 10 mm (0.39 in.).
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw on the accessory socket cover from the body and remove the accessory socket and cover as a unit.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
c. Disconnect the connector.
d. Disassemble the accessory socket from the socket cover.
16. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL LH
a. Remove the bolt and floor hook.
b. Remove the 5 clips.
c. Insert a screwdriver between the deck side panel and body to pry the deck trim side panel.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
17. REMOVE FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL
a. Rotate the fuel lid lock left to disengage the lock, then pull it out.
b. Hold the retainer between your fingers to push it out at inside of the vehicle.
18. REMOVE FUEL TANK CAP TETHER FROM FUEL FILLER OPENING LID
Remove the clip and fuel tank cap tether from the fuel filler opening lid.
19. REMOVE FUEL FILLER SHIELD
a. Remove the ring from the fuel filler shield.
b. Remove the fuel tank cap and shield.
CAUTION: Always keep the tank cap closed when it is not required to be open. Keep all fire away during the operation.
c. Install the fuel tank cap quickly.
20. REMOVE FUEL LID OPENING SPRING
Insert a screwdriver between the spring and fuel filler opening lid to remove the spring as shown in the illustration.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
21. REMOVE FUEL FILLER OPENING LID
a. Using a drill, drill out the rivet heads.
b. Remove the fuel filler opening lid.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FUEL FILLER OPENING LID
Using a riveter, install the fuel filler opening lid with the 2 rivets to the body.
2. INSTALL FUEL LID OPENING SPRING
3. INSTALL FUEL FILLER SHIELD
a. Install the fuel tank cap.
b. Install the fuel filler shield to the body.
c. Install the fuel tank cap quickly.
CAUTION: Always keep the tank cap closed when it is not required to be open. Keep all fire away during the operation.
d. Install the spring to the fuel filler shield, as shown in the illustration.
4. INSTALL FUEL TANK CAP TETHER TO FUEL FILLER OPENING LID
Install the fuel tank cap tether to the fuel filler opening lid.
5. INSTALL FUEL LID LOCK CONTROL
a. Install the retainer to the body from the outside of the vehicle.
b. Insert the fuel lid lock control to the retainer and rotate it right to lock.
6. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL LH
a. Install the deck trim side panel with the 5 clips.
b. Install the floor hook with the bolt.
7. INSTALL ACCESSORY SOCKET
a. Assemble the accessory socket to the accessory socket cover at the position 10 mm (0.39 in.) away from full lock position and ensure that they are temporarily locked.
b. Align the cut-out on the body with the claw on the accessory socket cover and install the accessory socket and cover to the body.
c. After installing them, push in the accessory socket approx. 10 mm (0.39 in.) to lock it.
8. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
Install the rear seat side garnish with the 3 clips.
9. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM COVER LH
Install the deck side trim cover to the deck trim side panel.
10. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH
a. Install the rear floor finish side plate with the clip.
b. Install the floor hook with the bolt.
11. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
Install the rear floor finish plate with the 4 clips.
12. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIMS
13. INSTALL REAR DOOR INSIDE SCUFF PLATES
14. INSTALL REAR SEAT LH
15. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER
16. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH
Install the deck side trim box with the nut and 4 clips.
17. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL COVER TRAY
18. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRAY
19. INSTALL NO. 3 DECK BOARD
20. INSTALL NO. 2 DECK BOARD
21. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY
a. Install the deck board assembly with the 2 bolts.
b. Install the front part of deck board assembly to the body.
