Introduction
RX 300's now have Seat Heaters that work independently from one another. As a result of this change, a new Seat Heater Inspection Method has been developed. Vehicles produced without independently operated Seat Heaters should still refer to the inspection procedures published in the RX 300 Repair Manual listed below.

Additional Diagnostic Procedure
SEAT HEATER SWITCH INSPECTION
NOTE: The Inspection Method is the same for both Driver's and Passenger's Seat.
1. inspect Seat Heater Switch Continuity:
SWITCH POSITION TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION
ON 2-6 Continuity
3-6
OFF 3-6 No Continuity
Illumination Circuit 1-4 Continuity
If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.
2. inspect Seat Heater Switch Indicator Light Operation:
a. Apply 12V power source to Terminal 3 and ground to Terminal 2.
b. Push the Seat Heater Switch and check that the Indicator Light lights up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the switch.
