Operation Procedures
Normally, REWRITE MODE operation erases all the previously registered codes and registers the transmitter code used during this procedure. Three additional codes may be registered.
To ensure that Wireless Recognition Codes are properly registered, special precaution should be taken when using REWRITE MODE. Please follow the procedure outlined below.
HINT:
Detailed instructions for REWRITE MODE and ADD MODE are provided in TSB SSOO4-99, Alternate Method to Register Wireless Recognition Codes.
1. From "REGIST. MODE SELECT" navigate to "CODE REGISTRATION".
2. At "CODE REGISTRATION" the desired recognition code will be registered by performing these steps:
1. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK button at the same time for 1 second and release.
2. Within 3 seconds, Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button for 1 second.
NOTE:
If the transmitter code registers properly, the vehicle will generate an audible signal.
CAUTION:
If the vehicle DOES NOT provide an audible signal after performing the above steps, registration of the new transmitter has failed AND all of the previously registered codes will have been erased.
If this situation occurs, use the ADD MODE to reregister the new transmitter.
