1. Refer to Workshop Manual, section 100-02: Jacking and Lifting, and raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the rear wheel / tire assemblies.
3. Detach the brake pad warning sensor wire at the brake bleed nipple to avoid damage. (Figure 1)
4. Remove the rear brake caliper housing securing bolts. (Figure 2)
CAUTION:
Right-Hand Side - Do not allow the brake caliper to hang on pad wear warning sensor lead.
5. Remove the brake caliper housing assembly, and tie aside. (Figure 3)
CAUTION:
Should contamination occur, clean and re-lubricate with correct grease (SYL500010).
CAUTION:
Use only grease SYL500010; no other grease may be used on the pins.

The guide pin bore contains a light lubrication which should be retained. The area should not be cleaned and care should be taken to avoid contamination.
6. Remove and inspect the rear brake caliper guide pins: (Figure 4)
^ If there is one bushed guide pin at the top and a plain pin at the bottom, continue to step 7.
^ If there is not one bushed guide pin at the top and a plain pin at the bottom, install the service pin kit LR020221.

The bushed guide pin must be installed in the upper position; the plain guide bin must be installed in the lower position.
