Loadspace Cover Retention Peg Repair

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
The loadspace cover may not move when the tailgate is raised. Upon further inspection the hook pegs which hold the cover support strings to the tailgate interior trim panel may be dislodged.
Cause:
This may be caused by insufficient engagement of the pegs in the tailgate interior trim panel.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Remove the loadspace cover.
2. If present, remove the loadspace cover pegs from the tailgate interior trim panel.
3. CAUTION: Make sure only a small amount of adhesive is used; excessive amounts will cause damage to the surrounding trims.
Place a small amount of the RTV sealant around the portion of each new peg which will be inserted in to the tailgate interior trim panel.
4. Push the center pin into the middle of the loadspace cover peg to secure in place in the tailgate interior trim panel.
5. Allow the adhesive to fully cure before attaching the loadspace cover support strings to the retention pegs.
