Front Door Outer Waist Seal Alignment

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The front door alignment may appear to be uneven at the trailing edge of the outer waist seal.
Cause: This may be caused waist seal not sitting flush to the door.
Action: In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

Refer to Workshop Manual for any required special tools.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the exterior mirror on the affected door (TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-09).
2. CAUTION:
The exterior mirror must be
removed prior to the removal of the waist seal; failure to follow this instruction will result in damage to the vehicle.
NOTE:
Note the fitted position of the component prior to removal.
NOTE:
Note the fitted position of the rubber door seal in to the waist seal prior to removal.
Remove the waist seal.
^ Remove the screw cover.
^ Remove the two (2) Torx screws.
3. CAUTION:
Do not use a knife for this step.
CAUTION:
Make sure the exterior surface of the waist seal is not damaged during this step.
Using a suitable tool, remove the section of plastic from the waist seal in the position shown.
4. Install the waist seal.
^ Align the rear edge of the waist seal with the rear edge of the door.
^ Tighten the two (2) Torx screws to 1.2 Nm.
^ Install the screw cover.
5. Install the exterior mirror (TOPIx Workshop Manual, section 501-09).
6. If required, repeat steps 1-5 to the other front door.
