Camera Fault Message Displayed

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
On vehicles fitted with the single Rear Camera only (not Surround Camera System vehicles), a Camera Fault message may be displayed in the High Level Display Front (HLDF), the Battery Charge warning lamp may be illuminated, and a potential loss of Medium Speed (MS) CAN may occur.
Cause:
This may be caused by water ingress into the tailgate harness causing contamination of the camera connector.
Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to replace the tailgate harness and rear view camera.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Do not remove the front screen when lowering the headliner.
1. Refer to Workshop Manual section 501-05 and lower the headlining.
2. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
3. Disconnect the ground lead.
Remove the ground lead retaining bolt.
4. Refer to Workshop Manual section 501-05 and remove the tailgate trim panel.
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
^ Remove the tailgate harness.
6. Remove the tailgate plinth.
^ Remove the eight (8) securing nuts.
7. Remove the rear view camera.
NOTE:
When installing the ground lead torque to 10Nm.
8. Reverse steps 1-7 to install the new tailgate harness and rear view camera.
