Removal

NOTE:
The rear lower ball joints can be replaced individually.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.

CAUTION: Make sure the rear lower arm does not over articulate. Failure to follow this instruction will lead to premature failure of the rear lower arm ball joint.
Release the rear lower arm.
- Remove and discard the bolt.
- Using a suitable tie strap, reposition the rear lower arm to one side.




3 Remove the rear lower arm and ball joint assembly.
- Remove and discard the 2 Torx bolts.
- Remove and discard the tie strap.

CAUTION: Make sure the ball joint seal is not damaged. A damaged seal will lead to the premature failure of the joint.
Using the special tool, release the rear lower arm from the ball joint.
- Remove the nut.

Installation

CAUTION: Make sure that new bolts are installed.
Install the rear lower arm ball joint.
- Tighten the bolts to 60 Nm (44 lb.ft).

CAUTION: Only tighten the nuts and bolts when the suspension is at the normal ride height. Failure to follow this instruction will lead to premature failure of the rear lower arm bush.
CAUTION: Make sure that a new bolt is installed.
Install the rear lower arm.
- Tighten the nut and bolt to 165 Nm (121 lb.ft). plus a further 90 degrees.
3 Secure the wheel knuckle to the rear lower arm.
- Tighten the nut to 80 Nm (59 lb.ft).
