Repair Procedures





REMOVAL

1. Remove the rear wheel & tire.

CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing the wheel & tire.

2. Remove the cam bolt (A), split pin, and castle nut (B).




3. Disconnect the ball joint of the rear assist arm (A) with the carrier assembly with the SST (09568-34000).






INSPECTION

1. Check the bushing for wear and deterioration.
2. Check the rear assist arm for deformation.
3. Check the ball joint for damage.
4. Check for the all bolts, nut, and washer.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the rear assist and the cam bolt (A) and then tighten the nut.

Tightening torque Nm (kgf.m, lb-ft):
80 - 100 (8.0 - 10.0, 58 - 72)

2. Install the castle nut (B) and split pin to the rear assist arm ball joint.

Tightening torque Nm (kgf.m, lb-ft):
45 - 55 (4.5 - 5.5, 33 - 40)




3. Install the rear wheel & tire.

Tightening torque Nm (kgf.m, lb-ft):
90 - 110 (9.0 - 11.0, 65 - 80)

CAUTION:
Be careful to damage the hub bolts when installing the wheel & tire.
