SUBJECT: SERVICE ACTION: RIO (UB) SUN VISOR REPLACEMENT (SA095)
This bulletin provides the procedure for replacing both sun visors with new ones on Rio vehicles produced from July 1, 2011 to October 9, 2011. The new sun visor is extendable and has a blue dot on the clear packaging for easy identification. To ensure maximum customer satisfaction Kia is requesting the completion of this Service Action on all affected 2012MY Rio (UB) vehicles prior to delivery. Before conducting this Service Action, verify that the vehicle is included in the list of the affected VINs.
*NOTICE
A Service Action is a repair program without customer notification that is performed during the warranty period. Any dealer requesting to perform this repair outside the warranty period will require DPSM approval.
Repair status for a VIN is provided on WebDCS (Service> Warranty Coverage> Warranty Coverage Inquiry> Campaign Information). Not completed Recall / Service Action reports are available on WebDCS (Consumer Affairs> Not Completed Recall> Recall VIN> Select Report), which includes a list of affected vehicles.
This issue number is SA095.
Service Procedure:
1. Remove sun visor assembly by removing mounting screw as indicated by the arrow.
Replace both LH/RH sun visors with new ones. Reinstall and tighten screws. Remove clear wrapper.
