P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor \'A\' Circuit - Inspection/Repair:_:W/Harness Inspection

Terminal & Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found ?






Signal Circuit Inspection

Check Open in signal circuit
1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect CKPS connector.
3. IG KEY "ON" & ENG "OFF"
4. Measure the voltage between signal A, signal B terminal of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Approx 2.5V








5. Is the measured voltage within specification ?





Check Short to ground in signal circuit
1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect CKPS connector and ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance between signal A, signal B terminal of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Infinite








4. Is the measured resistance within specifications ?





Check Short in signal circuit
1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect CKPS connector and ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance between signal A, signal B terminal of CKPS harness connector.

Specification :Infinite








4. Is the measured resistance within specifications ?






Power Circuit Inspection(ISG)

Check Open or Short in power circuit
1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect injector connector.
3. IG KEY "ON"
4. Measure the voltage between power terminal of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Approx 5V








5. Is the measured voltage within specification ?






Signal Circuit Inspection(ISG)

Check Open or Short in signal circuit
1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect CKPS connector.
3. IG KEY "ON"
4. Measure the voltage between signal terminal of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification :Approx 4.7V








5. Is the measured voltage within specification ?






Ground Circuit Inspection

Check Open in ground circuit
1. IG KEY "OFF".
2. Disconnect CKPS connector.
3. IG KEY "ON"
4. Measure the voltage between signal terminal of CMPS harness connector and chassis ground.(A)
5. Measure the voltage between signal and ground terminal of CMPS harness connector and chassis ground.(B)

Specification :"A" - "B" = Below 200mV








6. Is the measured voltage within specification ?
