Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?






CAN communcation line inspection

Check open/short to ground in CAN communication line
1. IG key "OFF".
2. Measure registance between terminal 3 and 11 of diagnostic connector. (Measure 1)
3. Disconnect EPS ECU connector and ABS(ESC) connector.
4. Measure resistance between CAN-High terminal of the EPS ECU harness connector and CAN-High terminal of the ABS(ESC) ECM harness connector.
5. Measure resistance between CAN-Low terminal of the MDPS ECM harness connector and CAN-Low terminal of the ABS(ESC) ECM harness connector.

Specification :Measure 1) Infinite, Measure 2,3) Approx. below 1 Ohms








6. Is the measured value within specification ?
