Airbag(Event #1)
B168400 ACU Configuration is different - General Information

Component Location

General Description

Airbag Control Unit (SRSCM : Supplemental Restraints System Control Module) must set a specification which is agreed with the vehicle in the end of line (EOL) for plant.
As the same conception, the function of "ACU Variant Coding" is to set a specification of an ACU.
Due to failure in the SRSCM, if you would replace ACU in the vehicle, must perform the ACU Variant Coding.
Since a new SRSCM is normally supplied with undetermined state, the ACU has to be set up based on the vehicle specifications by operating ACU Variant Coding procedure.
The SRSCM checks its specifications in it in order to run its airbag system normally.
If the warning light of airbag is flickering continuously, that is because SRSCM(ACU) Variant Coding is not completed.

NOTE:
SRSCM Variant Coding is available only one time. And when it is already finished, it is impossible to retry SRSCM Variant Coding.
