Repair Procedures
Removal
1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Remove the air duct (B) and air cleaner assembly (A).
3. Disconnect a connector (B) and loosen the wiring harness mounting nuts. Then pivot the wiring harness (A) side out of the way.
4. Remove the brake actuation unit.
5. Remove the hydraulic booster reservoir hose(A).
6. Disconnect the brake tube from the hydraulic power unit by loosening the bolt (B).
Tightening torque:
29.4 - 34.3 N.m (3.0 - 3.5 kgf.m, 21.7 - 25.3 lb-ft)
7. Loosen the hydraulic power unit bracket bolts (A), then remove hydraulic power unit and bracket.
Tightening torque:
19.6 - 29.4 N.m (2.0 - 3.0 kgf.m, 14.5 - 21.7 lb-ft)
Installation
1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
2. Tighten the HPU mounting bolts and nuts to the specified torque.
3. After installation, bleed the brake system.
4. Conduct calibration after removing the hydraulic power unit.
Pressure sensor Calibration
The pressure sensor mounted within the HPU calculates the pressure according to initial zeroing. Therefore, initial zeroing adjustment is required when installed for the first time.
Calibration must be performed as following cases.
- After changing HPU (you cannot change only the sensor)
- Among the three internal HPU pressure sensors, two sensors (excluding the sensor near the pump outlet) require offsetting simultaneously.
Calibration procedure
1. Connect the GDS. (CAN line or OBD connector)
2. Turn ignition switch on.
3. Press calibration button of the pressure sensor.
4. HPU pressure sensor calibration procedure is performed. (Calibration records, DTC codes erasure)
5. Turn ignition switch off after calibration procedure.
6. Confirm success or failure of calibration.
