P0A4E Generator Position Sensor Circuit High - General Information

General Description

The Motor Control Unit (MCU) supplies AC voltage to both the Drive Motor and the Hybrid Starter Generator (HSG). The Drive Motor provides output torque to the drivetrain and the HSG starts the gasoline engine. The Generator Position Sensor detects the HSG position.

NOTE:
** NOTE: When at EV Ready status the HSG is operational and may begin turning at any time. Stay clear of the drive belt during this time.

DTC Description

The MCU sets DTC P0A4E if the MCU detects that the Generator Position Sensor circuit is open, Short between REZ + and REZ－ each other or Short to power in signal circuit.
