P2146 Fuel Injector Group \'A\' Supply Voltage Circuit/Open - General Information
Component Location
General Description
The Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) system injects high pressure fuel directly into the combustion chamber. The high pressure injectors have an internal swirl disk which rotates with fuel flow to help atomize the discharging fuel. This causes the fuel to evaporate rapidly, which reduces inlet air temperature. This cooler atomized air/fuel inlet charge increases power output.
GDI injector drive has 2 circuits for high side. One handles cylinder 1&4 and another handles cylinder 2&3, so that these paired cylinders always occur same DTC.
DTC Description
ECU shows P2146 when the 1,4 high or low side is short circuit ground or short circuit battery.

Signal Waveform & Data
- Highside(HS14) and Lowside(LS_1) signals of Cyl. 1 Injector during injection
- Normal operating signal of ECU HS_14, LS_1 and LS_4 during No.1 Cyl. Injection
** ECM's HIGH SIDE control circuit(HS_14) is connected to No.1 and No.4 injectors together and ECM's HIGH SIDE control circuit(HS_23) is connected to No.2 and No.3 injectors together.
1. - Normal signal at the HIGH SIDE terminal(HS_14)
- Power supply to No.1 & No.4 injectors
2. - Normal signal at the LOW SIDE terminal(LS_1)
- No.1 injector working
3. - Normal signal at the LOW SIDE terminal(LS_4)
- No.4 injector not working
