Repair Procedures





Removal

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning work.
2. Remove the lower anchor bolt. [2 Door Only]
3. Remove the seat belt after pushing the lock pin(A). [4/5 Door Only]




4. Remove the following parts.
A. Door scuff trim
B. Center pillar trim
5. Remove the upper anchor bolt.
6. Loosen the seat belt pretensioner mounting bolt(A, B).
[2 Door]




[4 Door/5 Door]




7. Disconnect the seat belt pretensioner connector(C) and remove the seat belt pretensioner.

Installation

1. Remove the ignition key from the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least three minutes.
3. Connect the seat belt pretensioner connector.
4. Install the seat belt pretensioner with a bolt.

Tightening torque
Bolt B : 39.2 - 53.9 Nm (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb.ft)

5. Install the upper anchor bolts.

Tightening torque
: 39.2 - 53.9 Nm (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb.ft)

6. Install the following parts.
A. Center pillar trim
B. Door scuff trim
7. Install the lower anchor bolts. [2 Door Only]

Tightening torque
: 39.2 - 53.9 Nm (4.0 - 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 - 39.8 lb.ft)

8. Insert the seat belt to the anchor pretensioner. [4/5 Door Only]

NOTE:
Make sure the lock pin is connected in properly.

9. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
10. After installing the seat belt pretensioner, confirm proper system operation:
A. Turn the ignition switch ON; the SRS indicator light should be turned on for about six seconds and then go off.
