Component Inspection

Fuel Tank Inspection
1. Visual Inspection
(1) Check the hose connecting fuel tank and filler neck for cracks or fuel leakage.
And then, check tightening of the clamp band. (Fig 1)
(2) Check for cracks or fuel leakage on the filler neck (Fig 2)
(3) Check fuel tank for fuel leakage or any marks of impacts from the outside (Fig 3)
(4) Check tightening of the hose band on evaporative gas line and O-ring status in the coupler (Fig 4)








(5) Has a problem been found?





Seal Inspection on the Fuel Pump & Vent Valve
1. Visual Inspection
(1) Check that the fuel pump is tight and properly installed. Check that Vent Valve flange is secure (Fig 1)
(2) Check that the seal, installed on fuel pump and vent valve, is not missing, deformed or torn out (Fig 2)
(3) Check that the flange contacting seal with fuel pump and vent valve, is not deformed or torn out (Fig 3), (Fig 4)








(4) Has a problem been found?





Vent Valve Inspection
1. Place the vent valve to the direction for installation, check that air can pass through the vent valve by blowing air into the port by mouth. (Fig 1)
2. Place the vent valve is upside down, check that amount of air is reduced or there is some feeling of resistance if blowing air into the port by mouth. (Fig 2)

NOTE:
Never inhale the air from the Vent Valve during the Vent Valve inspection.




3. Has a problem been found?





Fuel Tank Cap Inspection
1. Check that a different kind of fuel tank cap is not installed.
2. Check the contact surface between filler neck and fuel tank cap is O.K.
- Fuel Filler Neck : Check the surface of Filler Neck where Fuel tank cap seal contacts (Fig 1)
- Fuel tank cap : 1 Check that seal on the cap is undamaged (Fig 2)
2 Check operation of the pressure valve and vacuum valve in the fuel cap




3. Has a problem been found?
