Repair procedures (M5CF1)

Removal

1. Remove the center console(A).




2. Remove the select cable snap pin(A).




3. Remove the shift cable clip(A).




4. Remove the shift cable(A) and select cable(B).
5. Remove the shift lever assembly(C).




6. Remove the retainer(A) and nuts(B).




7. Remove the snap pin(A) and control cable bracket bolts(B-3ea).




8. Remove the shift cable and select cable.

Inspection

1. Check the select cable for proper operation and for damage.
2. Check the shift cable for proper operation and for damage.
3. Check the boots for damage.
4. Check the boots for wear abrasion sticking, restricted movement or damage.
5. Check for the weak or damaged spring.

Installation

1. Install the shift cable and select cable after locating the shift lever and select lever at the neutral position.

NOTE:
When operating lever of body side, check secure operation of lever of transaxle side after assembly.

2. Install the snap pin(A) and control cable bracket bolts(B-3ea).




3. Install the shift lever assembly.

Tightening torque :
9-14Nm(0.9-1.4kgf.m, 6-9.5lb-ft)




4. Install the shift cable and select cable to the shift lever side.

NOTE:
Adjust the cable length with select cable adjuster in "N" position before installing the center console.

5. Install the center console.
