Inspection/Repair - W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination,deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
YES
1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure
NO
1) Go to "Main relay circuit inspection" procedure.

Power Supply Circuit Inspection

1. Key "OFF".
2. Disconnect Main relay and Key "ON".
3. Measure the voltage between terminal 1 (30) of main relay harness connector and chassis ground.
4. Measure the voltage between terminal 4 (86) of main relay harness connector and chassis ground.
A. Specification : B+




5. Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
1) Go to "Control circuit inspection" procedure.
NO
1) Check the fuse (ECU A 30A) between battery and main relay.
Repair Open in power circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Control Circuit Inspection

1. Key "OFF".
2. Disconnect main relay and ECM connector
3. Measure the resistance between terminal 2 (85) of main relay harness connector and terminal 9/C01-2 of PCM harness connector. (AT).
4. Measure the resistance between terminal 2 (85) of main relay harness connector and terminal 22/C01 of ECM harness connector. (MT).
A. Specification : Approx 1 Ohms




5. Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
1) Go to "Power supply circuit inspection" procedure.
NO
1) Repair Open in control circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Power supply circuit inspection

1. Key "OFF".
2. Disconnect main relay and ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance between terminal 5 (87) of main relay harness connector and terminal 6/C01-1 of PCM harness connector. (AT)
Measure the resistance between terminal 5 (87) of main relay harness connector and terminal 6/C01 of ECM harness connector. (MT)
A. Specification : Approx 1 Ohms




4. Is the measured resistance within specification?
YES
1) Go to "System inspection" procedure.
NO
1) Repair Open in power supply circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
