Inspection/Repair - W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
YES
1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Go to "CKPS circuit inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection

1. Check Open in signal circuit
(1) Key "OFF".
(2) Disconnect CKPS connector.
(3) Key "ON".
(4) Measure the voltage between terminal 1 of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground. Then,
measure the voltage between terminal 2 of CKP harness connector and chassis ground.
A. Specification : Approx 2.5 V




(5) Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
1) Go to "Component inspection" procedure.
NO
1) Go to "Check Short to ground in signal circuit" procedure.
2. Check Short to ground in signal circuit
(1) Key "OFF".
(2) Disconnect CKPS connector and ECM connector.
(3) Measure the resistance between terminal 1 of CKPS harness connector and chassis ground. Then,
measure the resistance between terminal 2 of CKP harness connector and chassis ground.
A. Specification : Infinite




(4) Is the measured resistance within specifications?
YES
1) Repair Open in signal circuit and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Repair Short to ground in signal circuit and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
