P0326 Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Range/Performance

Inspection/Repair - W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
YES
1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Go to "Knock sensor circuit inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection

1. Check voltage
(1) Key "OFF".
(2) Disconnect Knock sensor connector.
(3) Key "ON".
(4) Measure the voltage between terminal 1 of knock sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
(5) Measure the voltage between terminal 2 of knock sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
A. Specification : Approx 2.4 V




(6) Is the measured voltage within specification?
YES
1) Go to "Check Short in signal circuit" procedure.
NO
1) Repair Open or Short in signal circuit and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
2. Check Short in signal circuit
(1) Key "OFF".
(2) Disconnect Knock sensor connector and ECM connector.
(3) Measure the resistance between terminal 1 and 2 of knock sensor harness connector.
A. Specification : Infinite




(4) Is the measured resistance within specifications?
YES
1) Go to "Component inspection" procedure.
NO
1) Repair Short in signal circuit and then, go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
