Inspection/Repair - W/Harness Inspection

Terminal and Connector Inspection

1. Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.
Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
2. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
3. Has a problem been found?
YES
1) Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
NO
1) Go to "TPS circuit inspection" procedure.

TPS Circuit Inspection

1. Ignition "OFF"
2. Disconnect TPS connector
3. Ignition "ON"
4. Measure voltage between terminal "1", "2" and "3" of sensor harness connector and chassis ground
A. Specification :
terminal "1" Approx. 5 V
terminal "2" Approx. 5 V
terminal "3" 0 V




5. Is the measured voltage within specifications?
YES
1) Go to "Component inspection" procedure
NO
1) Check for open or short in signal harness. Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
