Removal and Replacement
Removal
WARNING:
The hybrid system uses DC 270V high voltage. So, be sure to follow safety instructions below. Otherwise, there may be a serious injury or electrocution .
1. Shut off the high voltage circuit .
2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal in the right side luggage trim.
3. Loosen the drain plug, and drain the inverter coolant. Remove the reservoir cap to help drain the coolant faster.
4. Disconnect the HSG (Hybrid starter generator) high voltage power cable connector (A).
5. Disconnect the OPS (Oil pressure switch) connector (A), A/C compressor switch connector (B) and the HSG (Hybrid starter generator) sensor connector (C).
6. Disconnect the cooling hoses (A) from HSG.
7. Remove the drive belt.
8. Remove the HSG (Hybrid starter generator) (A).
Tightening torque:
M8 bolt: 29.4 - 39.2N.m (3.0 - 4.0kgf.m, 21.7 - 28.9lb-ft)
M10 bolts: 44.1 - 49.0N.m (4.0 - 5.0kgf.m, 32.5 - 36.2lb-ft)
9. Installation is the reverse of removal.
CAUTION:
- After installing, perform the resolver calibration.
- Bleed air from the hybrid motor cooling system with GDS.
Inspection
Conduct the above inspections to troubleshoot any potential problems that may occur after replacing the HSG
