Hybrid Motor Control System
Description
The Hybrid vehicle is equipped with a high voltage controller that includes a HPCU. The Hybrid Power Control Unit (HPCU) is composed of various components. It is the core device among the Power Electronics (referred to as 'PE') devices and acts as the brain. It commands the operation of the hybrid vehicle. It comprises a Hybrid Control Unit (HCU), an inverter [Motor Control Unit (MCU), a Generator Control Unit (GCU)] and a Low-voltage DC-DC Converter (LDC).
All these components are configured as a single package. To ensure effective cooling of the HPCU, there is an additional cooling line which is separate to the existing engine cooling line. Each control unit is organically connected to the HCU via CAN communication.
